I felt what initially drove Jane and Robin apart seemed a little forced....the interaction between them when Robin is planting the flowers just didn't seem to flow right.... Also, while the idea that Robin comes back in the end to help during Holly's trial is an endearing touch, it also comes across as somewhat "done before".
The whole running "hoo-hoo" joke was, although a bit garish on the surface, a nice touch. And Robin's mother was an absolute gas.
In all, it was a worthwhile viewing experience. I actually considered seeing it way back when it was in the theaters b/c the ads looked appealing (But then, what movie ad doesn't, with all the editing of the best stuff together)...but never got around to it. As far as acting, I think Whoopi did one of her better performances in this movie, Drew Barrymore seemed to overplay it a little, and Mary Louise Parker did well but, IMHO, could have been a bit more expressive. That said, her character is a shy one, so for what her character is written to be, she did well.
There's my 2 sixpence....comments?
